DK Cong to take out 'Padayatra' on unmotorable roads

Mangalore, November 15: Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee will be taking out a five-day 'Padayatra' in the district to draw the attention of the state government about the pathetic road conditions across the district.

Announcing this at a press meet here on Tuesday, DCC president and Bantwal MLA B Ramanath Rai said the Padayatra would start on November 21 at Sampaje. Moving through the unmotorable roads of Aranthod, Sullia, Kowdichar, Parpunje, Puttur and Nerlakatte, the yatra would culminate at Mani on November 24, he said.

As a prelude to this programme, district Youth Congress will holding motorbike rally on November 19, to create public awareness.

Mr Rai also accused the BJP led state government of weakening the Lokayukta, after its first CM and his cabinet colleagues were indicted by it.

KPCC secretary Ivan D'Souza, former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, District youth congress president Mithun Rai and TK Sudhir were present.
