Mangalore, December 2: Backward classes leader KS Shivaramu, who is recovering after being attacked by the supporters of 'made-snana' at government-run Kukke Subrahmanya temple in Sullia taluk, pledged to continue his fight against casteist ritual.

Mr Shivaramu, who is the president of Karnataka State Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike, said that he has decided to intensify the campaign against the inhuman practice at temple.

“I don't care even if this struggle costs my life”, he said adding that he would surely visit Kukke Subrahmanya next year too during the shasthi to protest if it is held again.

He also said that the attack was pre-planned and the attackers were mere tools in the hands of upper caste people. “They did not know what they were doing, as they were usurped by the priest-class”, he said.

Mr Shivaramu reiterated that Pejawar mutt pontiff Vishwesha Teetha Swamiji should clarify his stance over 'made-snana' and attack on the fact finding team.
