Mangalore, December 3: The otherwise quite Nehru maidan was glittering with lights, sounds and dance when Boyzone Dance Crew along with Western Institute Of Technology put up a grand show called Elite Dance Challenge. Popular in the dance circuit Dharmesh Sir from Mumbai was one of the star attractions of this show.
The evening began with a dance competition for juniors. Categories involved solo and group performances. Children aged 8 and below came on stage and performed to their best different dance moves. They grooved to the thumping music and proved their talent. To break the monotony of the show Shifting Skills, a rock band from Mangalore performed a melodious number called 'Kaasijji', a Tulu rock number which was enjoyed by the Mangalorean crowd for the very first time.
Many dancers used props and performances on platforms as part of the show. One of the participants used a mask to begin her dance and then removed it to show her colorful dress and grooved to the thumping beats. The emcee of the evening Shaqeel did a wonderful job of entertaining the crowd with his jokes and shayaris.
In the middle of the evening the prominent personalities who supported the event and were instrumental in making this show a reality were called on stage and felicitated with bouquets. Amongst the personalities were Blossom Fernandes, Rishi Kumar Shetty, Moodbidri MLA Abhaya Chandra Jain, MLA U T Khader , Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh, B P Upadhyaya from MRPL, MA Kapoor , Srikar Prabhu, Lekshmi Kumaran from MRPL, Stephen Mendis, Chairman of Western Institute of Technology, Aziz Baikampady, Rafiq and Shafiq of Euro gold, Mayor of Mangalore Praveen, Corporator Diwakar.
