Bantwal, December 7: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said that the result of Bellary bypoll was expected. There is no threat to the BJP government with the Independent candidate Sriramulu winning the election.
Speaking to mediapersons after taking part in Vajapeya Somayaga, at Nandagokula Goshale on Narahari hillock on Kalladka-Melkar highway on Tuesday, he said “Sriramulu is independent to float a party. The BJP will not worry about it. I am happy that I could take part in a yaga for the welfare of the world.”
The party High Command will decide on the post of BJP state president. “I do not want to discuss it in the public,” he added.
Yeddyurappa took part in the yaga wearing white dhothi and shawl for half an hour and offered 'Hissu,' 'Kalpavruksha kai' and 'Kanaka' to the fire. The yaga is being carried out under the direction of K S Nithyananda.
Excise Minister Renukacharya, Dr K Prabakar Bhat, former MLA Padmanabha Kottari and others were present. The yaga will conclude on December 23.
