Mangalore, December 9: A delegation of Mangalore Catholic Diocese met Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda at his residence on Thursday and extended a formal invitation to him to attend the post-centenerany silver jubilee celebrations of the diocese being celebrated early next year.
The delegation, headed by the Public Relations Officer of the Mangalore Diocese Fr. William Menezes, met Sadananda Gowda at his home office Krishna in Bangalore and requested him to attend the function to be held on February 12, 2012 at Nehru Maidan as chief guest. The Chief Minister accepted the invitation and confirmed his participation, said the delegation sources.
Mr. Gowda also assured the delegation that the Rs. 50 crore allocated for the Chrisitan Development Council would be released soon.
CODP director Fr. Onil D'Souza, secretary of the post-centenary silver jubilee celebrations organizing committee Sushil Noronha, the legal advisor to the Diocese, M.P. Noronha, Fr. Praveen Patrao and Rajesh D'Souza were present.
