Mangalore, December 11: There is a need of strengthening relationship between linguistic academies of Karnataka in order to boost harmony between different languages and cultures opined former minister B A Mohideen.
He was delivering the presidential address at the valedictory session of the two-day Beary Sammelana organized by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy at Town Hall in the city on Sunday.
Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Kannada activists Harikrishna Punarooru and Pradeep Kumar Kalkura congratulated the Academy for its achievements.
Beary Academy president welcomed the gathering and delivered introductory remarks. Journalist Thufail Muhammad compered the programme. Registrar of the Academy Umarabba proposed vote of thanks.
Konkani Academy president Kasaragod Chinna, activist Umar Teekay were present among others.
