Mangalore, December 20: Dr B R Ambedkar Samajika Samskruthika Seva Sangha celebrated its third anniversary along with the memorial day of the father of Indian Constriction at Town hall in the city on Monday with music, dance and felicitations. The evening began with light film songs sung by singers Basha, Karunakar Polali and child artist Vijeth Ullal.
The chief guest of the evening was KPCC Secretary K P Nanjundi. The other prominent persons on the occasion were Mangalore Mayor Praveen, Bunts Sangha President Ajith Kumar Rai Malady, Mangalore MLA U T Khader, Congress leader Moideen Bava and industrialist Purshottam Rai.
After being felicitated with a shawl, citation and memento K P Nanjundi said, these kinds of functions are very good to show the solidarity amongst different castes. Dr Ambedkar was an ideal man not only for India but also to the world. He has a different thinking and his personality was great, he said.
Later on there was a felicitation of various child artists who are making their names on different television channels. Khushi who is a winner of E-TV's national level dance competitions, Rashmi who has won prizes at Zee TV's Kuniyona Bara show, Meghana Attavar- Balakrishna dance awardee, Soumya Sudha- Dancer and Dhanush- child dance prodigy.
The function also had its share of comedy shows by artists depicting 'news for the deaf'. All the guests were entertained by not only songs from various Kannada films but also from Bollywood. Vijeth Ullal, a child artist entertained the audience with famous numbers from Kannada film world. It was an entertaining evening with a mixture of dance, song and comedy which kept the audience asking for more.
