Mangalore, December 20: The Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Ltd. (KSIC), a fully owned Government of Karnataka Enterprise, on Tuesday opened its sales counter at Karnataka Handloom Development Corporation Ltd (KHDC) at Karnad Sadashiva Rao Road, in the city.
KHDC chairman M D Lakshminarayana formally inaugurated the counter.
Speaking on the occasion, KSIC Chairman Vijayakumar said that the traditional manufacturing, the twist patterns adopted in weaving the fabric gives it a grainy feeling, Mysore Silk is the best crepe silk available in India today and the Zari used in Mysore Silk is pure and has gold content of 0.65% and silver 65%.
Deputy Commissioner NS Chennappa Gowda and Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh were present among others on the occasion.
