Kasargod, December 22: K.P. Satheesh Chandran, who had represented Trikaripur Assembly constituency for two consecutive terms, will continue as the district unit secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for the second term in a row. The unanimous decision was taken at the three-day party district committee meeting held at Kalikadavu here.
Mr. Satheesh Chandran has served as the district unit president, State unit joint secretary, State unit vice-president and Central Committee member of the Student Federation of India (SFI). Later, he became DYFI district unit secretary and State unit joint secretary. He was also the district secretary of the Karshaka Thozhilali Union.
The meeting also elected unanimously the new district committee members. The five new faces in the district committee are V.P.P. Musthaffa, area sscretary, Trikaripur; M. Poklan (Kanhangad); Sabu Abraham (Eleri); K.R. Jayananda (Manjeswaram); and AIDWA leader M. Lakshmi, party sources here said. State committee member K. Kunhiraman, MLA (Trikaripur); AIDWA leader A.V. Remani, A. Abubacker, and Srinivasa Bhandari were excluded from the new district committee.
The meeting concluded with a massive procession. Other district committee members are A.K. Narayanan, P. Raghavan, M.V. Balakrishnan, M.V. Koman Nambiar, M. Rajagopal, P. Janardhanan, K. Balakrishnan, C.H. Kunhambu, T.V. Govindan, V.P. Janaki, K.P. Narayanan, P. Ambadi, V.K. Rajan, P.R. Chako, K. Purushothaman, P. Appukkuttan, Paval Kunhikannan, T. Koran, T. Appa, K.P. Kunhiraman, K. Kunhiraman (Uduma MLA), K. Chandrasekharan, V. Narayanan, K. Kunhikannan Nair, P. Prabhakaran, and P. Divakaran.
