Chandrasekhar Naik of Bhatkal, who applied for the post, said that the postgraduates were not given preference at the time of selection. Because of this, thousands of candidates from Karnataka lost out, he said.
The Karnataka Residential School Teachers Selection Committee had called for the applications for the posts of teachers and principals. But the committee did not consider the candidature of the applicants who had M. Ed degree although they had a higher score than the cut-off marks fixed by the committee, said Mr. Naik.
He and other candidates who had applied for the job had requested the Commissioner of Public Instruction and experts to help them get justice.
