Mangalore, January 2: Around 150 people on Sunday evening took out a protest rally at Haleyangadi on the outskirts of the city, where a Hebron Assembly Pentecostal Church was recently attacked by a group of miscreants.
The protest was organized under the joint aegis of Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike, the Karnataka Missions Network and other Christian organisations.
The protesters, who were holding black flags, raised slogans against the increasing communalism in the coastal Karnataka.
Addressing the protesters, who gathered in front of the Church, G Rajashekhar, KKSV Udupi district unit president said that ever since Bharatiya Janata Party came to the power in Karnataka, the violence against Christians and Muslims has increased.
I D Prasanna, Pastor of the Hebron Assembly and Louis Lobo of the International Federation of Karnataka Christian Organisations were present among others.
