Mangalore, Jan 4: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda dismissed the allegation of his involvement in suspension and transfer of police officers in the aftermath of recent attack on Sullia police station by Sangh Parivar activists.
Responding to the queries of media persons after landing at Mangalore Airport on Wednesday morning Mr Gowda said that his government has no time to interfere in such cases.
Brushing aside the allegations that he exerted pressure on police department to suspend and transfer of police officers, he said the government has given freedom to the police department to inquire into the case and take action.
The police department itself has taken action against the cops in the wake of the report by the State Additional Director General of Police Bipin Gopalkrishna who had probed the case including the stoning of the station and the reported police atrocities on the Hindu activists.
Asked about the verbal clash between former CM B S Yeddyurappa and State BJP chief KS Eshwarappa, the CM said BJP high command would intervene to solve this problem at the earliest.
