Mangalore, January 6: Mangalore MLA U.T. Khader has demanded deportation of six Sri Rama Sene activists who have been arrested in connection with the hoisting of Pakistani flag in Sindhagi last week.
In a press release issued on Thursday, Mr. Khader said, organisations like Rama Sene were on the one hand preaching lessons on patriotism and on the other carrying out anti-national activities.
“The government should deport these men to Pakistan. Let them enjoy their stay in that country by hoisting their national flag,” he ridiculed.
Organisations like Rama Sene have indulged in such activities all over the State. They might also have played a role in the recent untoward incidents that occurred around Ullal area, Mr. Khader said.
Meanwhile a number of organisations have condemned Rama Sene activists' efforts to divide the society by hoisting Pakistan flag.
“It is a shameful act,” said Mohammed Salim, secretary of New Age India Forum, in a press release.
Popular Front of India (PFI) has also condemned the incident and demanded stringent punishment to the offenders.
Muslim Varthakara Sangha has also demanded severe action against the arrested Sri Rama Sene activists.
