Mangalore, January 10: Dakshina Kannada District Wakf Advisory Committee has asked all mosques, madrasas and burial grounds to register their new committees as Wakf organisations under the Karnataka State Board of Wakfs.
Usman Haji, Chairman of District Wakf Advisory Committee, said at a press conference here on Tuesday that only 25 out of 614 places of worship of Muslims have been registered so far.
He said that those mosques, madrasa and dargah committees which fail to registers themselves as per the rules of Wakf Act 1995, would not get any grant or benefit from the government.
