Mangalore, January 17: The city based Sahamatha Film Society will be organising an International Film Festival from January 19 to 22 at the auditorium of SDM College of Business Management, here.
The inauguration of the festival will be at 4 PM on January 19. G S Bhaskar , FTII, Film Director will inaugurate the festival. Dr Devraj K, Principal and Director, SDM College of Business Management will be the chief guest. The function will be presided by Sadanand Suvarna, Theatre and Film Director.
The closing ceremony will take place on January 22, Sunday at 5 pm. Fr Richard Rego, HoD of Media at St Aloysius College will be the chief guest and it will be presided by Govind Belgaumkar, City Editor, The Hindu. The films which will be screened at the festival are , “ Kubi Mattu Iyala” directed by Sadanand Suvarna (1992); “ Adaminte Makan Abu” directed by Salim Ahmed(2011); “Kanchivaram”, directed by Priyadarshan (2008), “Rain Coat” directed by Rituparna Ghosh(2004); “Me Shivajirao Bhosle Boltoy”, directed by Santosh Manjrekar (2009); “IIPostino” , directed by Michael Radford(1994); “Baran”, directed by Majid Majidi(2001); “The Violin” , directed by Francisco Vargas (2005); “The Cuckoo” ,directed by Aleksandr Rogozhkin(2002).
