Mangalore, February 10: Former Karnataka High Court Judge and activist Justice M F Saldanha demanded resignation of Udupi district in charge minister Dr V S Acharya and MLA K Raghupathi Bhatt for desecrating the Indian culture by organizing a Rave Party in the St Mary's Island.
Addressing media persons at a press meet organized by local chapter of Peoples Union for Civil Liberties here on Friday, he said the two influential politicians were responsible for what happened in the beautiful and peaceful Island from February 3 to 5 in the name of the Spring Zouk.
Though event was jointly organized by Udupi district administration in association with 3W Concepts aiming it as tourism promotion tool, it is learnt that Udupi MLA was a partner of the event. It is to be noted here that a prominent politician alleged that out of the crores of rupees raised from the Rave Party, only Rs 5 lakhs had gone to the district administration and rest to Raghupathi Bhat's kitty. Even though the event turned out to be an ugly affair as video footages showed a foreign couple in compromising position during the party, Uudupi district in charge minister had justified it.
Justice Saldanha went on to claim that the duo should be disqualified from the Assembly if they failed resign owing responsibility for polluting the nations culture through open sex, drugs and prostitution in a historic Island, which was also considered as a place of pilgrimage.
Terming the Rave Party as a 'global disgrace' he exhorted the people of the region not to tolerate such things.

Lashing out at the BJP MLAs who caught watching porn clips during Assembly proceedings in the Temple of Democracy, Justice Saldanha lauded the responsible work of the media, which showed the true face of the ministers to the world through secret operation.
Communal Harmony
Justice Saldanha also expressed disgust over the deteriorating communal harmony and increasing incidents of communal attacks in coastal Karnataka, especially in Dakshina Kannada district.
