Udupi, February 10: Even after five days of conclusion of the Rave Party, the St Mary's Island, which was abused to the core by the revelers, had not been cleared of their littering.
The littered beer and liquor bottles, soft drink bottles, tins, pet jars, polythene bags, used condoms, syringes etc had remained. At some places the garbage had been found half burnt.
Nature lovers who turned to the Island after reading the fame of the Island in the media opined that if the district administration, which gave permission to hold a three days round the clock party, shall take the responsibility of clearing the garbage, if it had not put a similar condition prior to issuing the license.
On Friday morning Youth Congress activits from Udupi held a protest by performing a Ganahoma to purify the Island. Udupi Block Congress President Pramod Madhwaraj, Udupi District Mahila Congress President Veronica Carnelio, Udupi Assembly Constituency Youth Congress Committee President Yathish Karkera, Ramesh Kanchan, Keerthi Shetty and others participated in the Ganahoma rituals.
