Mangalore, February 19: Former union minister B Janardhan Poojary on Sunday lambasted former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa for his 'irresponsible' remarks on Assembly porngate.
Addressing media persons on the sidelines of Urulu Seve ritual organized to mark the Shivaratri at Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, Kudroli, here, the Congress veteran said that the statement by Mr Yeddyurappa itself laid bare the true character of Yeddyurappa and his family.
Mr Yeddyurappa on Saturday had backed three porn-tainted BJP MLA's saying that the issue had been blown out of proportion by the media. He also had posed a questioned: “Don't you watch blue-films at home?”
Mr Poojary replied that Mr Yeddyurappa along with his family members including children and grandchildren may watch such porn clips together at home. “But, he should not think that all others would do like him”, he said.
He also said, Mr Yeddyurappa, who has left for Varanasi to offer special Pooja at the renowned Kashi Vishwanatha Temple on the occasion of Shivarathri should not have given such an irresponsible and condemnable statement justifying the action of ministers who caught watching porn clips in the legislative assembly recently.
“Kashi Vishwanatha will definitely not bless him,” he said.
Bypoll contest
Mr Poojary also clarified that he would not contest the impending Udupi-Chikmagalur bypoll. “I am not among the ticket aspirants from Congress party. I will campaign for those who get the ticket”, he said.
