Mangalore, February 21: A National Investigation Agency team has reached Belthangady taluk in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, to look for clues to 2009 Goa blast, in which two persons were killed.
On October 16, 2009, a bomb blast rocked Margao town of Goa. It was the eve of Diwali when the blast occurred near Grace church, a few metres away from the site of the Narkasur Vadh - a unique competition held to commemorate the festival of lights in the tiny state.
Official sources confirmed that the NIA team picked up two brothers identified as Udaya and Vinaya, children of one Shanmukhan, resident of Aniyooru under the limits of Neriya Garam Panchayat in Belthangady taluk.
The duo, allegedly had close relationship with Jayaprakash, a Sanatan Sanstha activist, who hail from Kadaba in Puttur taluk, and has been named as one of the main accused in the Margao blast case.
Police sources said that ANI team later took the brothers to Belthangady police station for questioning. It is said that the relationship bond between the duo and Jayaprakash had become much stronger after the latter had married a close relative of the former.
Moreover Udaya and Vinaya were the activists of right-wing Hindu organisation Sanatan Sanstha.
