Bajrang Dal activists raid DJ party

Mangalore, February 26: The Bajrang Dal activists with the support of police on Saturday evening raided on a live music event at a bar in PIO Mall on Jail Road in the city.

The DJ party was organized by a group of students of St Aloysius College in the city to bid farewell to a batch of outgoing students.

Dozens of enthusiastic boys and girls, most of them belonging to middle class and upper middle class were dancing to the music together.

It is learnt the organisers were playing loud music that could be heard from outside of the bar.

The local activists of Bajrang Dal, who gathered information about 'indecency' and 'violation of limits' in the party, informed Barke Police station before carrying out the raid to end the party.

The Karnataka government has announced that Nandini milk will become ₹4 costlier per litre starting April 1, 2025. This is the second price hike this year.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Karnataka Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna and Animal Husbandry Minister K Venkatesh said the increase is meant to support dairy farmers by covering the rising costs of producing and processing milk.

Officials also said that:

>> The extra money from the price hike will go directly to the milk producers.

>> The earlier ₹2 price hike (announced on June 26, 2024) will be withdrawn.

>> The new price hike of ₹4 will apply to both 500 ml and 1-litre packets.
