Addressing the Congress Workers Convention held at Kalsanka, here on Monday the litterateur-cum-politician said, both Congress party and voters should take it as a challenge to defeat the corrupt, communal and anti-democratic forces.
He said that the by-election to the prestigious constituency vacated by CM DV Sadanada Gowda was a wonderful opportunity for voters to express their anguish against the miss deeds and shameless acts of the rulers of the State.
Mr Moily, who apparently avoided BJP candidate V Sunil Kumar's name, exhorted the Congress workers to about the 'Bajarang Dal activist, who despite being ousted by the voters of Karkala (defeated in the last MLA election), has been making a futile attempt to make a reentry through this election.
Union Minister KH Muniyappa, AICC General secretary Madhusudan Mistry, former union minister B Janardhan Poojary, KPCC President G Parameshwar, AICC General Secretary Oscar Fernandes, Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde, opposition leader in the legislative council Motamma also addressed the party workers at the convention.
