The Trust was formed in 2002 in memory of Yadav Poojary, son of Sommappa Poojary and Rukmini couple, who fell prey to enemy bullets on March 10, a few months after completing his training and getting posted in the desert of Rajasthan.
Yadav completed his primary education in Ammunje and Pre University education at Government P U College Benjanapadavu. Having faced financial difficulties at home he went looking for a job. He undertook some odd jobs.
Following an advice from Sebastian Kuthino, retired Air Force Flying Officer, he applied for a job in the Indian Army and got selected for the service.
The friends of Yadav set up an organisation called 'VeeraYodha Yadav Friends' a day after his funeral. For three years some like-minded people took the organization forward by organising health camps, eye camps and village level Kabaddi tournaments.
In the fourth year, friends of Yadav Poojary formed Veera Yodha Yadav Friends Trust. This organization has been conducting religious, social, educational, sports and cultural activities. They have helped in building houses for the poor and blood camps for them as well. Every year SSLC and PU Students get scholarships and school children receive uniforms.
The organization is 10 years old now and with the intention of immortalising Veera Yadav's name a memorial building by the name “Amarashree” is being built at Ammunje Shri Vinayak Temple premises.
