Karkala, March 6: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has warned Maoists that government would not tolerate their activities at any cost.
Speaking at a public rally here at Hosmaru, the CM said that the government is determined to curb Maoists menace in the state by taking stringent measures.
“Naxals have a wrong notion of achieving success using gun. They are ignorant of the fact that they can achieve nothing through revolvers, rifles and violence. In fact, Maoists activities are against democratic principles and is a threat to the process of democracy”, he said.
“A report is submitted in Lok Sabha on the presence of Naxals in the state in the past. However, the Maoists activities are under control now. The development work has been taken up on priority basis in Maoists infested areas. The development work in these areas will be a continuous process,” he said.
The CM also said the amendments to the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 will be made following the directions from the President's office and will be presented in the next Assembly session.
