Karvar, March 13: Members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist –Lenin) on Monday took out a procession in the city demanding the closure of nuclear power stations in the country.
The protesters demanded that nuclear weapons be banned all over the world.
Addressing the protesters, Uday, State secretary of CPI (ML), said people were being misguided that there was no danger from nuclear stations. But after the Fukushima disaster, seven nuclear power stations had been closed in Germany. The CPI (ML) had given a call to observe March 12 as Fukushima Day, demanding closure of Kaiga station, he said.
They also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
