Bhatkal, March 20: The exhibition being held as part of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal's Golden Jubilee anniversary celebrations here is serving as one of the main attractions of the event.
The exhibition features Nawayath culture, information on Islam, and contributions of Jamia alumni. The exhibition was inaugurated by Moulana Rabey Husaiani Nadvi, Chairman, All India Muslim Personal Law Board on Sunday.
Visitors, numbering in hundreds are thronging to the exhibition venue everyday. Antique pieces, old household equipments, old books and several such items of historic value are on display.
Nawayath cuisine has also not been left out. Beautiful models of Masjid-e-Nabvi of Madinah, Masjid-e-Aqsa, and of local educational institutions and mosques prepared by students have also been kept for public viewing.
A little house has also been constructed for the exhibition depicting a traditional Nawayath dwelling showcasing typical Nawayath architecture and wooden carpentry. Old household items and kitchenware have also been kept.
In the kitchen section of the house, traditional Islamic and Navayath values of three to four members of a family eating in one plate, has been depicted. Old weights and measures and modes of rice storage could also be seen.
