Addressing a press meet in the city on Wednesday he said that people of the two districts have together taught an unforgettable lesson to the ruling state government, which according to him is engulfed in corruption and various scandals.
The mature voters have thwarted the conspiracies of BJP leaders, who tried to divide people in the name of 'Billavas' and 'Bants'.
Mr Poojary also said that Congress too has learnt a lesson in this election. “The people have sent a clear message to the Congress leaders and workers that their victory will continue if they maintain their unity and work together”, he said.
He also congratulated Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes for taking the complete responsibility of election campaign in the prestigious constituency.
Dissolve Assembly
Mr Poojary demanded that Chief Minister D V Sadanada Gowda should dissolve the state Assembly immediately since people of latter's home constituency have given their mandate against BJP.
Victory of Plural Society
In a separate statement Mangalore MLA U T Khader has depicted Mr Hegde's victory as the triumph of plural society and multi-culture of coastal Karnataka.
“Soon after filing nomination, BJP candidate V Sunil Kumar had stated that he did not want minorities' votes. Interestingly people of majority community themselves taught him a good lesson”, said Mr Khader.
