Mangalore, March 27: The Dakshina Kannada Hotel and Restaurants Association will be organizing an International Food Festival called 'Ahaar- 2012' at the Kadri Park from March 30 to April 1.
The fest will be open from 4.30 pm to 9 pm on all three days. The inaugural ceremony will be held on Friday at 5.30 pm.
This was announced at a press meet here on Tuesday by President of Hotel and Restaurants Association Kudpi Jagadeesh Shenoy. Vice-president Swarna Sunder and secretary Deviprasad Rao and Manjunath D of Nisarga Publicity were present.
Many well known hotels will be participate in the fest offering vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies. North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Italian, Russian cuisine will be offered along with Ice cream, fresh juice, chats, sweets and bakery items. On this occasion the Horticulture department- DKDistrict, DK Zilla Panchayath, Mangalore City Corporation will be showcasing a fruits and flower exhibition.
The Simon Exhibitors from Bangalore will be conducting an exhibition of household items called 'Gruhashobhe'. A cooking competition for ladies will also be held. An artistic sculpting competition of fruits and vegetables will be held for the general public. The Bharath Gas will provide information on safe cooking.
The entry to the festival which is jointly sponsored by Karnataka Bank and Bharath Gas will be free.
