Mangalore, April 6: Chrysalis Children's Library, a lending library entirely dedicated to boys and girls between ages zero to 17 will be inaugurated on April 8, informed Rakhee Raveendran, Founder, Chrysalis Children's Library.
Addressing media persons at Press Club in Mangalore on Friday, Ms. Raveendran said that the library has a collection of over 10,000 books categorized by age group and in various levels i.e. from basic picture board books for babies (0 years) to simple word books for toddlers to chapter books for boys and girls (up to 17 years).
Stating that 'Chrysalis' denotes transformation as it basically refers to pupa of a caterpillar that transforms into a butterfly, Ms. Raveendran said that she wanted to a library to be a medium of this transformation for children in the form of books.
The lending charges would be Rs 150 per month wherein four books could be taken away at a time, she said.
A website launching ceremony will also be held on the occasion of the inauguration of the library. Prof M B Puranik, President, Tulunadu Educational Trust, will inaugurate the library while Gopikrishnan Konnanath, Associate Vice President and Head, Mangalore Development Centre, Infosys, will launch the website.
