He was replying to the queries of media persons on the sidelines of a meeting on the formation of Global Devadiga Foundation in the city on Sunday.
Asked about the closure of the operations in second and third phases of the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited due to water scarcity, Mr Moily said it was the responsibility of the State to foresee the problem and find immediate solutions.
He also criticised the BJP government for its failure in tackling the issue of drought that is affecting taluks across Karnataka.
“The State has mere declared 123 taluks to be drought-hit. However, no concrete action has been taken solve this problem”, he said.
Earlier, Mr Moily paid a rare visit to Shri Gokarnanatha Kshetra in Kudroli to participate in a marriage.
