He was speaking at the “Protect Constitution Day” rally and meeting to mark the 121st birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar here. The rally and meeting were organised by the Karnataka Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike, District Minorities Forum, Catholic Sabha, Zilla Muslim Okkoota, Bharatiya Christa Okoota, and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
“The Sangh Parivar had said that it would make Karnataka into another Gujarat. It had successfully achieved its aim”, he said.
Writer G. Rajashekhar said that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government had turned the Constitutional system upside down in the State.
Mr. Rajashekhar said the BJP Government was not just anti-constitutional and corrupt, but also was against minority communities. The behaviour of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly K.G. Bopaiah had shown that both he and the State government had no concern for the Constitution.
The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa was repeatedly saying that he was innocent till proven guilty.
But he was not ready to extend the same logic to the minority communities, who had been at the receiving end of the violence of the Sangh Parivar.
