Udupi, April 16: Majur villagers, who blocked the movement of a huge crushing machine Sunday night, continued their confrontation with the contractor of the crusher on Monday morning.
The crusher was being transported to be installed at the Indian Strategic Petroleum Reservoir Ltd (ISPRL) project at Padur.
The mobile crusher was being carried in a mega truck from Mumbai, via Kaup-Majur road to Padur.
As the vehicle cut electricity lines, on Sunday evening, in many places, villagers stopped the vehicle at Majur and pelted stones at its window panes.
On Monday morning the confrontation continued, as the villagers of Padur joined them protesting against the installation of the crushing machine at Padur as that affect the local cultivation.
Police rushed to spot and took the vehicle carrying the mobile crushing machine to their custody and booked a case.
It is learnt that the crusher was brought by the contractor to transport the boulders blasted at the project site in Padur after crushing in to pieces.
Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon told press persons that the local village panchayanth has taken a resolution against issuing permission to the installation of a crushing machine.
