Mangalore, April 30: Karnataka BJP chief KS Eshwarappa has opined that there were no convicted political leaders in state unit of his party.

Responding to the queries of media persons during his visit to the BJP office in the city, Mr Eshwarappa said that those facing charges in the court of law could not be considered guilty.

Reacting to senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar's statement that those facing graft charges would not be given any posts, Mr Eshwarappa said: "I do not know on what context Ananth Kumar had made that statement. He might have given that statement referring to the issue related to Bangaru Laxman.”

He also his expressed confidence that the saffron party would win all the six seats of the Council that go to the polls shortly.

“We have met each and every voter. The development works initiated by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and his predecessor B S Yeddyurappa will be a blessing for us. Teachers have been given facilities which no government provided in the last 60 years. The teachers are in favour of the BJP,” he added.
