Union Bank to open 30 branches, 59 ATMs in Karnataka

Mangalore, May 1: The Mumbai-based Union Bank of India would open 30 branches and 59 ATMs in Karnataka this financial year, said D. Sarkar, Chairman and Managing Director, Union Bank of India.

Mr. Sarkar was speaking at a press conference here on Monday after inaugurating the bank's third regional office in Mangalore. He said that branches would be opened in Hassan, Udupi, Mysore, Bellary, Chikmagalur, and Shimoga. In the coastal belt, the branches would be in Kundapur, Manipal, Mangalore, and Gurupur, he said.

The other two ROs were in Bangalore and Belgaum. The Mangalore RO would cover 11 districts that had 29 branches and a business of Rs. 991 crore. During the year, 10 branches would be added in these districts.
