Journalists too have work problems: P B Harish Rai

Mangalore, May 1: Journalists are considered to be people with white collar jobs who draw huge salaries but in reality they too have their own problems as employees said P B Harish Rai, President, Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Association.

He was speaking at a programme organized by Rotary Club, Mangalore in the city as part of 'May Day' on Tuesday.

Stating that a journalist's job is tough, Mr. Rai said that many media persons draw meager salaries and work under the 24x7 work pressure.

Three senior workers Ananda Acharya, Prem Kumar Shetty and Anantha Phadke were felicitated on the occasion.

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Phadke are senior workers who have been serving at Hotel Woodlands from the past several years while Mr. Acharya has been delivering newspapers to houses every day from the past several years.

Mayor Gulzar Banu and Mr. Rai lauded Rotary Club for identifying such workers and honouring them.

Y Ramesh Rao, Owner of Hotel Woodlands was also present.
