Mangalore, May 7: City police on Monday raided the office of a recruitment agency for allegedly cheating Gulf job seekers under the pretext of providing visas to oil rich nations.
The police swung into action following the allegations of fraud by JCG Associates Manpower Recruiters, which has an office in Al-Rahaba Complex near State Bank bus terminus.
It is learnt that the agency has allegedly cheated nearly 50 Gulf job aspirants after collecting them huge amount of money. “He had collected amounts ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000 from each job aspirant”, said a source.
Sleuths attached to Pandeshwar Police Station said that they had sealed the office and confiscated dozens of documents from the office.
They said that the agency was belonged to Canute D'Souza, a businessman, who was caught by police two years ago in a similar fraud.
