Mangalore, May 14: In a daring rescue operation at dangerous Ullal beach, lifeguards saved four persons including two girls from drowning on Sunday evening.
Ismail (17), Saniya (12), Anjuman Banu (14) and Nagintazu (36) were rescued by members of Jeevarakshaka Ijugarara Sangha at Ullal.
A group of tourists from Bangalore had come to visit the Ullal Syyed Madani Darga. They later visited the beach. However, the joy visit turned nasty when the group was pulled by the strong waves.
The group was saved by Mohan Puthran, Praveen Kotian,Vasudev Bangera, Harish Puthran, Akshith and Chachu.
The life savers admitted the group to Government Hospital at Ullal. All are out of danger, it is learnt.
The same lifeguards on Friday evening had rescued four other tourists who were about to drown at Mogaveerapattana in Ullal. Shahida (45) of Kavalakatte, Rumana (3), Mudassar (9) and Sameera (12) were rescued.
