Karwar, May 17: Minister for Fisheries, and Science and Technology Anand Asnotikar, who had threatened that he and 25 other MLAs would stay in a resort in Goa until the State Cabinet was expanded, returned to Karwar after the poor response from his 'supporters'.
Mr. Asnotikar, in fact, went to a resort in Goa on Monday night and waited for the 25 MLAs, but they didn't turn up.
The Minister had even invited mediapersons from Karwar to Goa on Tuesday morning and had told them that he and Minister Balachandra Jarkiholi would lead the group of 25 MLAs.
He had threatened to 'resign' with the 25 MLAs if Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda was replaced.
When contacted on Wednesday, Mr. Asnotikar claimed that four legislators had indeed come to Goa to stay in the resort with him, but he failed to reveal their names.
Later in the evening, Mr. Asnotikar said the legislators did not turn up because the party high command and the Chief Minister had given an assurance that there would be a Cabinet reshuffle. He said the assurance was given to Mr. Jarkiholi.
Mr. Asnotikar said he would end his resort stay.and return to Karwar.
