Mangalore, May 21: The Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to professional courses commenced at 16 centres across Dakshina Kannada district on Monday.
The district administration has made arrangements for smooth conduct of the examination, for which an overwhelming number of students from across the district have been enrolled.
The Deputy Commissioner has imposed prohibitory orders within a radius of 200 metres around the centres during the examination. Shops with photocopying machines have been asked to close.
Apart from the city, the examination centres have been established in Moodbidri and Puttur too.
Vigilance teams with the DC Chennappa Gowda as the chief superintendent have been formed. 16 senior government officers have been appointed to monitor 16 centers. The principals of respective centers have been appointed as deputy chief superintendents.
The examination will conclude on Tuesday, May 22.
