Wild animal intrudes into Mangalore Airport runway

Mangalore, May 31: Airport authorities in Mangalore were in for a shock on Thursday morning when a wild animal allegedly intruded into the run way.

Sources in Airport said that a bison, which entered into the Airport premises from nearby forest, ran towards the runway creating panic among the authorities.

However, Airport staff took immediate and necessary measures to ensure that the runway is safe for landing of flights.

Mangalore Airport Director M R Vasudeva Rao confirmed that flight operations have not been suspended. “Everything is normal now. Bison is not in our area”, he said.

It is learnt that forest officials have already reached the spot to catch the bison.
