Mangalore, June 5: The seat selection process for diploma students who have cleared the Common Entrance Test (CET) for lateral entry into engineering courses will be held at the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NIT-K) on June 13.
Vijaya Kumar, Principal, Karnataka (Government) Polytechnic (KPT), told media that it was first decided to hold counselling at KPT. However, after a visit by officials of the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) to the polytechnic on Monday, it was decided to shift the location.
Since infrastructure was inadequate to hold counselling at the polytechnic, the officials decided to shift the location to NIT-K, he said.
Last Sunday, Mr Vijaya Kumar said that the venue this year would be KPT instead of Sahyadri College in accordance with the decision of the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) that this year, counselling centres must be set up in government colleges instead of private colleges.
