Mangalore, June 15: Members of the District Physical Education Teachers' Association on Friday sat on a silent dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mangalore demanding fulfillment of their various demands.
A memorandum was submitted to the MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik after the dharna, urging the state government to fulfill their demands.
The Association's demands include appointment of physical education lecturers in Pre University colleges, organizing M.P.Ed training for physical education teachers who have secured B.P.Ed degrees, implementation of the Prof. L R Vaidyanathan Physical Education Expert Committee's report which has been accepted by the government with immediate effect etc.
P V Joseph, President, District Physical Education Teachers' Association, K H Nayak, Chief Secretary, District Physical Education Teachers' Association, Akhil Shetty, Vice President, of the association and many other physical education teachers took part in the protest.
