Udupi, June 15: From June 15, Friday, Udupi and Kundapur Traffic police will track the traffic violators using Black Berry technology.
This will help in bringing in efficiency, transferency in Traffic management, said Udupi SP Boralingaiah MB, after announcing the launch of the system here on Friday. He told media persons that the system has been introduced in Udupi and Kundapur city areas, coming under the jurisdiction of respective traffic police stations.
For the purpose eight Black Berry equipment units and mini printers had already been supplied by the State police department and they would be handled by Sub Inspectors and Assistant Sub Inspectors.
The system helps in traffic management, as the information on each traffic violation, fed to Black Berry, would be registered at the Centralised Database at Bangalore. ``Once the system comes in to effect completely, it automatically cancels the driving licence of a driver or a motor cyclist, on the third violation'', he said adding the system has been introduced in Bangalore and functioning successfully. The system had already been introduced in Mangalore too.
SP also informed that vigilance by Close Circuit TV camaras in Udupi city would also be introduced by the end of August.
