Mangalore, June 29: The two-day Management Development Programme organized by the MDP Centre of AIMIT, St Aloysius College, on the outskirts of the city, concluded on Thursday evening.
The inaugural was held on Wednesday morning. Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, Director, AIMIT welcomed the participants and spoke of the initiatives taken by AIMIT to promote interaction with the industry and academia through MDP and FDP programmes conducted by the Institute. Rev Dr Oswald Mascarenhas SJ, Chairman, MBA dept spoke on the various aspects of commodities trading and said that we need to develop a proper philosophy of trading lest we get into deception and unethical practices.
Sessions during the two days of the workshop were conducted by Mr Venkatesh Amin, faculty coordinator of the MDP assisted by Mr Elroy Monis and Ms Divya Pereira, faculty of the MBA department of AIMIT. The participants were given in dept and practical knowledge of commodities trading. Even five participants came all the way from Bangalore to attend this unique programme.
This year AIMIT will be organising MDP and Faculty Development programmes on regular basis. Mr Venkatesh Amin, who is the coordinator of the MDP Centre, has planned to have at least one MDP/FDP per month. Some of the MDPs planed for the year are: Organization Behaviour, Retail Industry-Challenges, Real Estate-Industry outlook, Emerging Industries-(Water, recycle waste, food, health care and Energy ); Automobile-After Market Distribution and Challenges; Service and Services Industry Challenges; IT and IT Enabled Services-Opportunities for young entrepreneurs; Logistics, Packaging and Transport Industry; Health Insurance; Turnaround Management, Creativity and Innovation and Training Programmes for Corporate Trainers in leadership.
