Mangalore, June 29: “The Rotarians will derive utmost content and satisfaction while serving the community by strictly following and implementing the theme 'Peace through Service' - a theme aptly announced by the Rotary International Organization this year”, opined industrialist and Past Lions Governor Ln. Mohan Kamath.
He was speaking as a chief guest on the Installation Ceremony of the Mangalore Rotary Metro club held on Thursday at Hotel Ocean Pearl in the city.
Mr Kamath also advised the Rotarians to develop leadership skills and friendship and fellowship in Rotary.
The Dist Asst Governor Rtn. Sadashiv Shetty administered the installation ceremony. Outgoing President Rtn. Suresh Kamath handed over the reigns and helms of the club to the new President Rtn. Ramakrishna Kamath.
In his acceptance address Rtn. R.K. Kamath assured that his team will emphasize on literacy and health camps and implement parent-student insurance scheme for the 1,000 govt school children in and around Mangalore.
Outgoing Secretary Rtn. Krishna Shenoy presented a annual report of the club and incoming Secretary Rtn. Dr. Ranjan proposed a vote of thanks.
On this occasion as a part of club's community service, two wheel chairs have been donated to Mangalore railway station for the convenience of the physically challenged passengers. Uniforms were presented to poor students of Srinivas Pata Shala Mangalore.
