Belthangady, July 11: A team of six suspected naxals were spotted at Shishila in Beltnangady taluk on Tuesday evening.
According to sources the group had four armed men and two women. The team clad in khakhi colour uniform had visited a SC colony situated in the periphery of forest at Ambudedange.
It was said that the team had visited a house in the colony and had said that they were Naxals and one need not worry over it. “We will visit again,” they reportedly told the villagers.
Police visit the spot
According to villagers, Naxals would have visited Shishila via Kuthloor-Neriya-Gandibagilu-Amedikallu-Kallaru route. This is the first time that the Naxals have made their appearance in Shishila.
Inspector-General of Police (Western Range) Pratap Reddy said that the Anti-Naxal Force was working on the information.
