Mangalore, July 12: A case of a physically handicapped fish trader from Ullal being duped of Rs. 3.45 lakhs by a Bangalore based person has been reported.
Nazeer, a fish trader from Ullal who was carrying out his trading activities in Bunder area of Mangalore from the past three years, had maintained business contact with Purushottam, a fish trader from Bangalore's Alsoor Market for some time. Mr. Nazeer would send him limited quanities of fish every now and then. Recently, Purushottam placed fish order of large quantity, responding to which, Mr. Nazeer dispatched fish worth Rs. 3.45 lakhs to him. However, on sensing that no bill payment has been made still by Purushottam, who otherwise made his payments in time, Mr. Nazeer has filed a complaint with the Mangalore Police Commissioner.
A cheque of Rs. 1.35 lakhs sent by Purushottam has bounced. Mr. Nazeer has therefore requested the Police Commissioner to give him justice as he is currently in a state of debt.
