Mangalore, July 19: Words of condemnation echoed in front St Aloysius College in the city with several students protesting against the July 9 molestation of a teenaged girl in the Guwahati, Assam.
Addressing the protesters, student Suman D'Silva said, “We feel disgusted. The incident has raised questions about the safety of women in the country. There were many women who had undergone such humiliation and suffering in the past. It is our earnest demand to the government to ensure that women are safe and punish the culprits"
She said, ”This being an initiative taken by all the youth present within the campus, needs intense provocation of the people in and around the city of Mangalore, so that an action taken today, prevents unjust incidents such as molestation and other atrocities from occurring day in and out”
