Mangalore, July 22: 'Marriage Fund', a wedding programme for three poor girls organized by SYS Centre, K C Road, was held on Sunday.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Syed Jaffer Sadiq Tangal said that Ulema and Umara must also lend a helping hand in activities aimed at protecting and welfare of the poor and the economically weak, besides carrying out their other responsibilities.
M S M Abdul Rashid Zaini, State Secretary, SYS Centre, urged the community members to make use of such programmes.
Al Haj K P Hussain Sa'adi, SYS State President, in his address said that the youth of today must realize what their responsibility in protecting and helping the needy is.
An amount of Rs. 50,000 was provided by SYS Centre to the girls for their wedding during the programme. Coupons of Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 were also given away as part of 'Marriage Fund'. A programme wherein 150 families would be given 10 kgs of rice every month, was also inaugurated on the occasion.
Ismail Haji Koppal, U B Mohammed Haji, Nazir, Moideen Bawa, Usman Palla, and other members of the Jamaat were present on the dias.
N S Umar, Chief Secretray of the Centre, welcomed. The programme concluded with three 'Swalaaths'.
