Mangalore, July 31: Sriramulu, the political heavyweight from Bellary, who will emerge as the next chief minister of Karnataka after elections, will ensure that incidents like pub attack and homestay attack are not repeated, said Girish Rai, Convenor of the Sriramulu Sankalpa Yatra convention to be held in Mangalore on August 2.
Addressing media persons at Press Club in Mangalore on Monday, Mr. Rai said that Sriramulu's party BSR Congress condemns the attack on young boys and girls at Padil homestay. “The 2009 pub attacks also took place during an election year and even this attack comes with Assembly elections not too far away. These attacks are tactics to generate political mileage. Had the culprits of 2009 pub attacks been appropriately punished, this attack would not have taken place. Sriramulu as Chief Minister would ensure that no such events take place in the state”, Mr. Rai said, expressing confidence that BSR Congress will sweep the upcoming polls.
“States like UP, Bihar, Tamil Nadu etc are examples of regional political parties' domination. We are also on our way to become a strong regional political party and victory in the polls is a certainty”, Mr. Rai said.
Bhaskar K, Spokesperson of the district unit of BSR Congress said that Sriramulu will answer all allegations against him and the Bellary Reddy brothers at the convention.
The convention will be held at Town Hall in the city at 11 am. Sriramulu will induct local politicians and social activists into the party on the occasion, Mr. Bhaskar said.
