Madikeri, August 22: Condemning the 'biased report' submitted by the State Women's Commission on Mangalore homestay attack, members of Bharathiya Mahila Okkuta Kodagu staged a protest in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner here on Tuesday.
The protesters lashed out at the chairperson of the Commission C. Manjula for what they termed here prejudiced and biased report on July 28 in which young girls were molested and boys were thrashed by the activists of Hindu Jagarana Vedike.
They urged the State government to reject the controversial report.
The protesters submitted a memorandum to the State government through district administration on the occasion.
Okkuta President Alphansa Kuttappan said “the report was prepared by the Women's Commission with a pre conceived notion. The report is against the interest of the victims.”
The incident should be handed over to the CBI to probe.
The Okkuta members also urged the authorities to distribute ration cards to 37 tribals who are working at Arakadu coffee estate.
